Unlike wet batch concrete plant, since dry batching plant doesn’t have concrete mixer, its mixing is done in the concrete mixer truck during transportation. When the dry concrete mixing plant is working, each system sends the weighed aggregates, cement, fly ash, etc. into the storage hopper, and then loads the materials into the concrete mixer truck through the storage hopper.
Then, water and other additive are added into the concrete mixer truck. The concrete mixer truck keeps the rotation of the tank at a speed of at least 70 revolutions per minute to achieve the purpose of mixing.
The main difference between dry and wet batch concrete plants is to transfer the function of mixing concrete from the concrete mixer in the concrete batching plant to the concrete mixer truck. In this case, the initial investment cost of the mixing plant will be reduced, but the dry concrete mixing plant has higher requirements for the concrete mixer trucks.
Although the cost of dry mix concrete plant is low, it will be not a good choice for mass production. One reason is its low working efficiency. The effective mixing volume of a mixer truck is too small to meet large-scale production. If too many mixer trucks are used, the cost will increase and the economic benefits will be greatly reduced.
Therefore, the dry mix concrete plant can be used as a good supplementary equipment, but it cannot be used as a mainstream concrete mixing plant.
