The concrete mixing plant is used to make mix sand or gravel, water, additives, fly ash, cement, etc. to produce concrete. There are two main types of concrete mixing plants: dry mix concrete plant and wet batch concrete plant. What are their differences? Let’s have a look.
The dry mix concrete plant consists of aggregate feeding system, powder feeding system, control system, batching machine, etc., but there is no concrete mixer and liquid material conveying system.
The wet batch concrete plant is mainly composed of 5 major systems: JS concrete mixer, material weighing system, material conveying system, material storage system and control system and other auxiliary facilities.
The dry batch concrete plants use electronic meters or manual meters to weigh sand, gravel and cement. After this, they will be discharged into the chute, which is discharged into the tank of the concrete mixer truck.
At the same time, the weight or volume of water is measured and discharged into the mixer truck through the same charging chute, and then all materials are mixed for at least 70 to 100 revolutions during transportation to the construction site.
But for the wet batching plant, after weighing, all the materials will be conveyed into the concrete mixer. After mixing, the concrete will be discharged into a concrete mixer truck that will transport the concrete to the construction site. During transportation, the mixer truck should rotate at an appropriate speed to prevent the concrete from coagulations.
Their Respective Advantages
Because of the special working mode, dry batching plant is suitable for the task of f providing concrete to distant transportation sites. Since the mixing is finished in the concrete mixer truck, it can save the construction period and slow down the initial setting time of concrete.
What’s more, its initial cost is relatively low. However, its capacity is not large and only suitable for those projects which has low requirements for concrete quality.
